SCENE TO BE SEEN
Located in the heart of Old Montreal, the David Hotel is surrounded by almost 400 years of rich history which means that taking a stroll down the cobblestone quarter is quite literally like walking down memory lane. Only a block away is bustling rue Saint-Paul, the oldest street of Montreal paved in 1672 and where you will find Notre Dame de Bonsecours, our city’s jewel and oldest chapel built in 1771.
The neighborhood’s old city charm is home to an eclectic mix of high-end boutiques, leading contemporary art galleries, upscale dining and pulsating nightlife. Make reservations and dine at Stellina’s where renowned chefs Jonathan Agnello and Massimo Lecas prepare authentic handcrafted Italian pasta or pick up locally sourced or imported goods from artisanal grocery stores that line the Parisian-inspired district for a quiet and romantic night in.
The story of the David Hotel mirrors its foundational history of innovative minds coming together to create an original design. Named after its original owners, the Corse Building was built in 1858 by bold sisters and partners Susannah and Mary Corse. The female entrepreneurs turned in their inheritance for a seat at the table and completely disrupted a predominantly male industry by renting out their space to wine and cigar importers as well as auction houses. Fast-forward over a century and a half later where two like-minded Davids are found repeating history and making headway in an industry of their own. Highlighting the juxtaposition of historic gray stones that adorn the exterior of the momentous building to unveil a modern rendition of expressionistic interior architecture and design, the two Davids present their namesake; the David Hotel.
Their goal; reinvent the hotel lifestyle for a more curated voyage, giving guests access to all the tools and privacy needed to take charge of their own unique experience.

An Amazing Stay!
I loved the David! This grand old building has been beautifully converted. All communication from the David and information for check in was timely and clear. Check in was a breeze. The hallways were a little dark but added an air of mystery as to what would be behind the apartment door. The studio was a modern oasis. The design is fresh and modern and i loved the contrast against the ancient stone walls, The kitchen was equipped with top notch appliances and everything you would need to create a simple meal in your space. The open concept bathroom was fine for one person or sharing with someone you're intimate with but may not be so pleasing to someone who needs more vanity space. The bed was luxurious and comfortable. The lighting was amazing and gives you the ability to create an ambiance for different moments. There were two minor flaws for my taste: the kitchen counter that marks a division in the space, serves as a table with two stools and cabinetry for dishes and some kitchen appliances is efficient and useful but is adorned with fake ivy, which in my opinion was tacky, a dust collector and unnecessary. A simple living succulent on the windowsill would be easy to maintain and bring a much more tasteful touch of life to the room. My other minor issue is the coffee game was weak. There was a Nespresso machine in the kitchen which is high quality and makes great coffee but there were only 4 pods for my 3 night stay. Nespresso pods are not easy to find so you can't really supplement them. I would have rather had a French press or drip system so i could have bought coffee if enough had not been provided. Neither of these issues would keep me from returning to the David. The location is amazing and convenient to so much of what you would want to do. The area is lively and safe. There is, i must mention, a cafe half a block away and across the street is Titanic, a land mark restaurant serving breakfast and lunch. I cant wait to return to the David!July 2022

Very comfortable with great location
We showed up late in the evening and parked one block up from the hotel (apartment). The parking had me concerned but after a small debate with the parking lot attendant I was able to park in the front of the lot along the street instead of the back. The apartment is on the edge of the old town. Easy walking to so many sights and restaurants. Hotel access is pretty secure. A little dark in the hallways but easy to navigate. The rooms are very modern and comfortable. Well appointed with a full kitchen, washer and dryer and comfortable bed. My only concern is the $500.00 deposit. Not sure when I get that back in my account but assuming there is no issue to the return of the deposit than it was well worth the stay.April 2022
