  2. More for work than vacation

    Positive: The location is great. It is by a lot of great restaurants and bars. Old Montreal is a lovely area, and you can walk to a lot of attractions. Negative: They do no have a full shower door, so water gets everywhere. The main shower head did not work, we had to use the side one. The sink is not with the shower or toilet, it's on its own near the bed. They don't clean the rooms for you. They don't have staff on hand to help, you have to communicate through text. Also, there is no where to leave your luggage.

  3. In general, we really enjoyed our stay, and the rates were very good for value received.

    Positive: Once we got the hang of having no formal check in we were fine. All the instructions that were sent over the phone were clear. We enjoyed the size of the room, having an actual kitchen, also, the lighting was a big bonus for us. we will use your place again! Negative: Two small things: there should be a shower door, even one. Our main showerhead was not working and the little one was too small actually.

  4. All of the comforts of a studio apartment in a beautiful part of the city.

    Positive: The room had beautiful amenities--everything we needed. Excellent appliances, thoughtful inclusions like laundry detergent and dishwasher pods, a comfortable mattress and great water pressure. The room is wonderfully appointed, with really no details considered. Close to many parking lots and garages. Negative: Unfortunately, this hotel is a horrible choice for anyone prone to asthma or who has any sensitivities to smells. Right upon walking into the hotel, one is met with a very pungent smell from the cleaning products that are used. That smell exists in the rooms, too. It gave my travel companion an asthma attack, and it gave me a headache. Also, the shower is completely see-through and out in the open, so it is not a great hotel choice for folks sharing a room who are not romantically involved. There is no privacy for the person taking a shower.

  9. Fantastic room, but soulless check in process

    Positive: The bed was incredibly comfortable, and we enjoyed the funky vibe of our room. The kitchen was well stocked in terms of appliances and utensils. The washer and dryer worked really well. And the location was great. It was exceptionally quiet and the only faces we saw were that of one other couple. The entire check in process is digital, so not even a receptionist to be seen. Negative: Although the automated digital check in sequence was efficient, had I known my facial biometrics were going to be required right before check in I would have opted for another method. Not sure if this is the hotel’s requirement or Booking.com, but it was a huge turn off for me. And I really would have liked some kind of human contact from the company.

    Positive: Darkness with sleeping, bathrobes, and readily available staff. Also lots of wash cloths, hand towels. Negative: No recycling.

    Positive: Well equipped, great bed, excellent location Negative: Incheck procedure lengthy and a lot of hassle while traveling and doing everything on your mobile phone. The floor of the shower was quite slippery.

    Positive: Great bed, excellent location, fun modern motif.. We loved having a kitchen, even cooked there. Loved the separate love seat with TV so you don't need to be on bed. Negative: On our second stay we were on 2nd floor and it was very noisy early from trucks. Nothing the hotel could do but 4th floor was quieter.

  16. Tutto automatico, moderno ma pulizia da migliorare

    Positive: POSIZIONE È nel centro storico dal lato più verso la stazione, quindi posizione molto buona per un turista. Via tranquilla e non rumorosa. CAMERA La camera è di fatto un monolocale arredato in stile moderno, quasi da rivista di design. Oltre l'ingresso c'è il lavandino in camera con solo il WC chiuso. Poi c'è un appendiabiti a vista, il letto grande con comoda panca contenitore di fronte. Poi c'è l'isola con la cucina ampia e capiente e un divano con TV prima delle finestre. Vengono forniti almeno 4 set di asciugamani e 2 accappatoi, ciabatte, pentole, posate e attrezzi da cucina. Macchinetta Nespresso con 4 cialde incluse, 2 bottigliette d'acqua, bollitore e bustine di tè. Frigo, congelatore, ghiacciaia e microonde presenti. Wi-Fi gratis buono. Piano cottura a induzione. Phon presente con uscita per lisciare ma non il diffusore. Check-in e accesso in camera sono tutti con codici forniti via mail. Receptionist presente solo nel tardo pomeriggio-sera. La camera è davvero un bel piede a terre di design, ma è da migliorare la pulizia. Perfetta per lavandino, letto e cucina, ma da rivedere nel WC dove ho trovato polvere sul quadro (mai pulito) e delle ragnatele sulla parete, mentre sotto le finestre c'erano vespe morte da molto tempo (ne ho anche vista una viva sui vetri della stanza 23). Anche se sono meno visibili vanno puliti. La camera non viene rifatta durante la permanenza, altrimenti costa un extra. SERVIZI Colazione non presente perché credo manchi una sala comune. PREZZO Prezzo competitivo per la posizione nel centro storico e la qualità dell'alloggio offerto. Consigliato per turisti o visitatori occasionali. Negative: Pulizia

  17. Loved the location.

    Positive: Great location. Comfy bed. The woman in the reception area was very helpful. Good refrigerator, freezer, kitchen stuff. Negative: Mostly there were design issues that didn't reflect the service. The shower floor was very slippery. No hooks in the vicinity of the shower. The concrete floor made the room feel cold. The lighting was ok, but could have been better over the counter top. It always seemed dark, I think the paint. The worst flaw was that the tv was mounted way too low, below the height of the countertop - very difficult to watch from the bed or the couch. A chair would have been nice.

  18. We will stay at the David Hotel when we go back to Montreal, it’s great for our needs

    Positive: Very clean, top quality appliances, comfy bed, fabulous location, parking lot very close by Negative: There is only staff on Monday-Friday, no one at all on the weekends ( which would be fine if you knew that in advance ). No one comes in at all to your room, so unless you ask for toilet paper, dishwashing or laundry and or coffee pods you are out of luck. If I had wanted to have the room tidied I would have to schedule a “cleaning” and I believe there would have been a fee.

  20. Overall good quality place but made us miss the service of a hotel with full fledged front desk.

    Positive: The location was good, close to Old port and convention center. The apartment was clean and new. The kitchen was well equipped making it easy to cook and eat at home. The staff were courteous. The wifi was fast and reliable. They allowed us to check-in two hours earlier than 3 pm by prioritizing the clean of our unit. The bed was big, the linens are good quality and enough quantity. The appliances were new. Negative: The shower only had half a glass panel, so water would come out every time we used it. I don't understand why they couldn't have put a glass door which can be closed to keep the water in. We were given a loft next to the elevator inspite of asking for a quiet room away from noise. The elevator was quite noisy and did wake us up at times during the night. The major problem we faced was with luggage storage. They recommended luggagehero app but the closet location was almost 850 m away, which is far when you have big luggage items. They eventually arranged to store luggage at the hotel itself when the previous guests checked out, but we had to call them several times from the airport to get that arranged. I just wish they had a better solution to this problem as we wasted almost two hours in the morning we arrived. This made us appreciate hotels with a full time front desk, where the time of arrival is not an issue. The staff I met during our stay mentioned that they have someone at reception every day from 9:30 am onwards, but it wasn't the case on the day of our arrival. The bar stools in the apartment are hard and not comfortable.

  22. Spacious Apartment in great location but design vibe has triumphed over comfort and practicality

    Positive: The apartment was modern, reasonably well appointed and spacious. Great location, walking distance to everything in Old Town and parts of New Town. Bed was large and comfortable. Negative: Apartment design was very 'modern' and practicality and comfort seemed to be lesser considerations to 'design vibe'. Hence always trying to work out lighting, how to comfortably watch TV, coffee cups too small for tea drinkers, handbasin set in middle of room etc etc. The check in and registration procedure is probably the most complicated I have come across in 50 years of travel.

    Positive: David is very modern and hip in a grey way, (which seems to have been the defining colour of the last 8 years) but perhaps too much grey. The bench seat at the end of the foam-top bed is upholetered in a salmon colour which could have effectively been used as the colour for the curtains to bring a little more liveliness to the atmosphere. The rooms are equipped with high-end appliances including two refrigerator drawers and rwo freezer drawers in each room. The shower stall is 3/4 glassed in and offers a choice of rainfall head or adjustable spray pattern head and good hot water. My only complaint is th at there is no closure for the stall which guarantees a wet floor each time it is used. If you wish to cook, lots of utensils, dishes and gadgets are in supply, but there is no chef's knife. As well, there is a nespresso machine - good - but for a 4 night stay for two, only 4 caffee pods were supplied. Perhaps this is nitpicking, but David, as everyone knows, is not inexpensive. One particularly bright , positive note was sung by Mary, one of the attendant/managers on duty there to address any needs or concerns one might have; unfortunately on weekends there seems to be no-one on duty. All told, David makes a valiant effort at affording something upbeat, yet homey, and mostly succeeds - and the location is superb! Negative: No comment

    Positive: Modern, simplistic, clean studio at heart of Montreal. Conveniently located in Old Port, steps away from historical landmarks, make it very easy to explore on foot. Location has BIXI bike share nearby, allow easy connection to other neighborhoods and explore Montreal on bike using the vast biking network. Studio has a full kitchen and washer/dryer, great add-on compare to typical hotel. Nespresso machine was a plus! Negative: None

    Positive: this place is perfect. we're a self starting couple who needed more of a landing base than a destination. the David hotel was perfect. it felt like our own house. nicer than an Airbnb by a mile, but not as stuffy as a hotel, and much more convenient. 11/10 stars Negative: the elevator was a bit small, it only held us, all of our luggage, and another couple.

  43. A lovely apartment in a great neighbourhood, would recommend.

    Positive: Loved the location, the studio apartment itself, the interesting lighting (thankfully all labelled), accessibility to the metro, neighbourhood, comfy bed, very lovely kitchen. Laundry was good to have. Negative: Only a couple of small details... a cutting board & knife would have been useful in the kitchen (for baguette and snacks). We could not get the fridge to work. A toilet tissue holder in the bathroom would be helpful.
