    Positive: This is a beautiful room in a great location. The kitchen is well stocked, the bed is comfy, the keyless entry is a nice touch too. Quiet place with a quaint feel. Will definitely stay here again. Negative: The shower is a little bit small, but serviceable. It would be nice if there was a mirror closer to the bathroom sink. The hallway/entraceway to the building has an unnecessary (and DISGUSTING) amount of HEAVILY fragranced air freshener. It's quite over the top and not needed. Major thumbs down for anyone that is scent sensitive. Luckily it's only at that part of the property.

    Positive: Location vs value is great I like that all the amenities were present in the room Negative: There was an old stale cream carton in the fridge which was smelling horrendous! Another pack of half eaten ben and jerry ice cream container. They charge for everything during your stay including basics like cleaning(90$), coffee pods, water!

    Positive: Everything! Loved how it had everything we could possibly need. From shampoo/conditioner, Netflix, a speaker, and even the tote bag. It was extremely clean and we loved the vibe. Also, the location could not be any better. Would stay again :) Negative: No comment

    Positive: Pros: check-in was easy if comfortable with phone/email self check-in, nice bath robes provided, nice shower, room was very clean, bed and pillows were comfortable, kitchen was very well equipped, location was close to cruise port. Negative: Couldn't get the Netflix to work (may have been user error), someone made a mistake and put shampoo or body wash in the conditioner container, no comfortable place to sit, only mirror is a full length one with no seating (makeup application), no creamer for the coffee and the bathroom scale didn't work.

    Positive: The location was amazing and the hotel definitely has an instagram vibe. Everyone staying at the hotel we met were fantastic and the staff we did talk to were very helpful, Help was always just a text though Everything was clean and the rooms were nice and quiet. Negative: The 9 digit code to get into the room worked 25% of the time. It would take 4 attempts to get in most of the time. The layout of the room is a bit odd. No mirrors in the bathroom area, the only mirror was in the kitchen area. The TV stopped working for a good hour/hour and a half the second night and oddly it's a very "g-rated" vibe. The alexa had a major filter on it. We stayed thur-mon and only saw staff thursday night and friday morning.

    J’ai adoré mon séjour. Tout est confortable et très propre ! L’accueil est numéro 1 ! Nespresso, eau Eska, robe de chambre, pantoufle et petit gâteau ! Les savons sont de qualités. De plus étant seule, je me suis sentie en sécurité, car un code est requis pour l’entrée du hall, et un autre long code pour accéder à la chambre. J’ai déjà hâte d’y retourner !

    Positive: Studio très bien situé dans le vieux Montréal, concept intéressant et pratique. Avant notre arrivée nous avons reçu un code qui nous a, une fois que nous avons pu récupérer la chambre, permis d'accéder à toutes les informations nécessaires pour que le séjour se passe au mieux. Différents tutoriels YouTube pour tout ce qui est technique, un aménagement harmonieux, le tout três bien équipé et spacieux. Il n'y a pas de réception mais par mail ou téléphone, la réactivité est sans faille. Nous y retournerons sans hésiter Negative: un p’tit coup de plumeau sur les bouches de ventilation ferait du bien 😉

    Positive: The location is perfect for visiting restaurants and cafés in Old Montreal - just takes a few minutes to walk to some great places. I also appreciated the recommendations that were sent with the check-in information. Negative: The entry way and "lobby" are kind of dark.

    Positive: My husband and I came to Montreal for the first time. We really liked David Hotel. We were absolutely satisfied with everything. The hotel has a very good and convenient location. The room was spacious, very comfortable and convenient. Everything we needed for a good holiday, we found in the room. All of our questions were answered promptly. The hotel management was very responsive and always resolved any issues that arose. We will happily stay at the David Hotel again! We also recommend this hotel to our friends) Negative: No comment

  49. TERRIBLE - SAVE YOUR MONEY AND PICK ANY OTHER HOTEL

    Positive: the lights on the wall and under the bed was nice, and the fact that it has a kitchen if required during your stay and the location. Negative: everything else. the shower leaks water all over the floor because it’s the same flooring with shiny clear coat over it, when you have an issue, nobody is there to help. the inside of our room was DISGUSTING dirty, realizing that we had been sleeping in bed sheets with blood on them. hair all over the floors and dog hair on the ottoman, dust all over, looked like they hadn’t cleaned the place in over a month, the window sills were disgusting dirty. for the amount of money they charge per night, this is a disgrace. oh and you better hope you have your own Netflix account, they have a tv that’s basically useless unless you have your own accounts or else you can’t watch TV. the floors were disgusting dirty, I almost broke my neck on the hard plastic garbage they left in the middle of the tiny walk way between the sink and the bed.. behind the sink that’s in the middle of the hotel room.. there is NO bath tubs; and the cleaning people refused to help me when I told them we needed the sheets changed and the room cleaned because it was gross as well as toilet paper as there was almost none for our 4 night stay. this was one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had in a hotel in my life; there is no concierge or service desk to ask anyone for help so your basically SOL if you have an issue with anything. and there’s homeless people that sleep in the entrance room which is scary if your walking in at night late on your own.. oh and someone tried to smash the window of my car parked on the street right across from the hotel one night. just avoid this place and go to somewhere you know will be good. this was the first and the last dealing with any simplissimo hotels or David hotels. By the way when I informed the hotel and provided photos, they’re offer was to give me $80 CAD back for the cleaning of the hotel LOL.. AND we didn’t even stay the whole time considering there was no way I was sleeping another night in someone’s dried blood.. what a joke.. never again.

    Positive: Unbelievable space in an unbeatable location. Every in-room amenity you could think of plus more. We will be coming back. Negative: The inability to store a bag for a little while before/after checkout was a little inconvenient, but nothing that would deter me from rebooking.

    Positive: Location to old Montreal & train station was great. Negative: Too many emails back & forth & having to take a selfie with my ID as part of a pre checkin process. Lack of privacy with bathroom, e.g. shower and bathroom sink in the middle of the room. Cleaning fee not clear in room ad, therefore was shocked when fees included added up to a total of over $300 / night. $500 deposit which I won’t get back for 72 hours. Meaning I parted with over $800 for a one night stay.

    Positive: very convenient location for old town Montreal. Very modern and comfortable. Full kitchen, washer and dryer and smart TV. Very clean. Negative: The room only had a duvet and it was very hot to sleep under. wish we had better options. We parked in a lot literally a half a block up the road. Didn’t feel very comfortable parking there but after some debate we parked in the front of the lot instead of the back where they wanted us. We didn’t have any problems.

  67. An Amazing Stay!

    I loved the David! This grand old building has been beautifully converted. All communication from the David and information for check in was timely and clear. Check in was a breeze. The hallways were a little dark but added an air of mystery as to what would be behind the apartment door. The studio was a modern oasis. The design is fresh and modern and i loved the contrast against the ancient stone walls, The kitchen was equipped with top notch appliances and everything you would need to create a simple meal in your space. The open concept bathroom was fine for one person or sharing with someone you're intimate with but may not be so pleasing to someone who needs more vanity space. The bed was luxurious and comfortable. The lighting was amazing and gives you the ability to create an ambiance for different moments. There were two minor flaws for my taste: the kitchen counter that marks a division in the space, serves as a table with two stools and cabinetry for dishes and some kitchen appliances is efficient and useful but is adorned with fake ivy, which in my opinion was tacky, a dust collector and unnecessary. A simple living succulent on the windowsill would be easy to maintain and bring a much more tasteful touch of life to the room. My other minor issue is the coffee game was weak. There was a Nespresso machine in the kitchen which is high quality and makes great coffee but there were only 4 pods for my 3 night stay. Nespresso pods are not easy to find so you can't really supplement them. I would have rather had a French press or drip system so i could have bought coffee if enough had not been provided. Neither of these issues would keep me from returning to the David. The location is amazing and convenient to so much of what you would want to do. The area is lively and safe. There is, i must mention, a cafe half a block away and across the street is Titanic, a land mark restaurant serving breakfast and lunch. I cant wait to return to the David!

  68. Very comfortable with great location

    We showed up late in the evening and parked one block up from the hotel (apartment). The parking had me concerned but after a small debate with the parking lot attendant I was able to park in the front of the lot along the street instead of the back. The apartment is on the edge of the old town. Easy walking to so many sights and restaurants. Hotel access is pretty secure. A little dark in the hallways but easy to navigate. The rooms are very modern and comfortable. Well appointed with a full kitchen, washer and dryer and comfortable bed. My only concern is the $500.00 deposit. Not sure when I get that back in my account but assuming there is no issue to the return of the deposit than it was well worth the stay.
