  1. My stay was great.

    Positive: Location was excellent. Rooms are really nice. Negative: Bath towels were thin and hard. Need new towels. No silverware to eat with in the kitchen. Could work the expresso machine. Need instrructions for the shower.

    Positive: Hotel was located in Old Montreal close to restaurants and shops. Very short walk from the Train station. Clean and well appointed. Exactly as described. Very comfortable and impeccably clean. Negative: Everything was to like

    Positive: The location was incredible, couldn’t beat it. Only a quick walk to the waterfront and the Notre Dame Basilica and Place D’Armes. The apartment also felt very luxurious and was well equipped. Negative: If you prefer a hotel stay with an accessible front desk I wouldn’t recommend this place. The front desk staff (one person) were only at the hotel from quite late in the morning. Was definitely more like an airbnb, no room service (unless you paid a charge of $90 per clean). Still a modern and interesting concept, and liked the feel of the apartment. :)

  8. Cool, comfortable and cozy all at the same time.

    Positive: Fantastic location! Felt like a SoHo loft in NYC but better. The decor is cool and comfortable. Every detail was thought of. Negative: As little curtain between the bed and bath area would be nice. You have to be comfortable with the set up, no privacy.

  13. A lovely place to stay in Montreal.

    Positive: Loved the location, love how secure the property was, relatively quiet. It had all the kitchen utensils you’d need, as well as bathroom items. Loved the robes and slippers. Negative: Could hear the person above me stomping around. I hated the light that blinked when the tv was off.

  18. Good spot, Good Views, Great Stay

    This is a fantastic stay overall. The David Hotel is situated right in the heart of Old Montreal and this makes getting to where we need to go that much easier. There are plenty of cafes in the area and Rue de St. Paul offers that aesthetic that tourists crave. The old port is a brisk walk away and there are plenty of sites to see. Parking overnight is never fun in any big city and that applies in this case as well. The only concern would be the lack of a door on the shower. You get a nasty draft while in there and it just makes for an uncomfortable time. However, it doesn't detract from the cleanliness of the room and the various amenities made available to guests. It is good bang for your buck and highly recommended.

  24. Perfect for any Montreal Stay

    Stayed for 6 nights while on holidays in Canada - position in Old Port excellent to explore all Montreal. Close to amazing restaurants, galleries, and shopping, and even walking distance to Bell Stadium. Modern accommodation with everything you need - it was like having your own apartment and not being in a hotel. Room exactly as promoted and perfect for a short or extended stay Would absolutely recommend- communication and check in was flawless.

  26. Great room for a long stay

    The loft had all facilities for a long stay including well equipped kitchen and washer dryer. I was there for 16 days on business so really appreciated being able to cook and do laundry. The bed was very comfortable and the rooms are very soundproof. There is no desk so if you are there for business, as I was, you can set up on kitchen island with stools. Not ideal as it’s had to work without a proper chair. Other than that it was a great hotel.

    This was one of the best hotels I have stayed at. The room was uniquely beautiful and had everything you could want or need. It was vibrant, welcoming and in a great part of the city.

  29. I would NOT recommend this hotel.

    Positive: We chose the David Hotel based on the ratings and the images online. The idea of a spacious suite in a great location with nice design features really appealed to us. We were in town visiting family and while we didn't need a kitchenette or sitting area, they were well appointed. Negative: BEWARE of this hotel! Initially, I was a bit dismayed to find that there were none of the usual items found in hotel rooms such as Kleenex, cotton balls, etc... and no front desk or housekeeping to request these items. We went out and bought these items and it was not a big deal at all. What was actually an enormous problem was that on the second night of our stay there was an alarm that went off ALL NIGHT in our room. We could not find the source but lost an entire night of sleep which absolutely destroyed our plans for Saturday and Saturday night in Montreal. When I texted the contact for the hotel they apologized and asked if we had perhaps left one of the appliances open accidentally. When we advised that we had not used any appliances but also that we had checked them all repeatedly to see if we could locate the source of the noise, they said they would look into it. Eventually they advised that the noise was emanating from a vent and that they were addressing the problem. In the meantime we advised that we would like to be compensated. After going back and forth with them on this and explaining that an email apology was not an adequate way to address this, they offered us a one night stay on them with a limited time period in which to use it. I believe that a refund is in order but was willing to accept a one night stay without any restrictions (other than prime nights such as Christmas and New Years) with regards to how long the offer is valid for. Gift cards should not have an expiry date and especially when it is being offered to compensate for a problem which was not caused by us and was something we had to endure all night due to the fact that there was nobody there on staff to deal with the problem. If we were at a hotel with anyone on staff there on location, perhaps they could have fixed the problem or moved us to another room. This hotel saves money by not having any front desk staff, unfortunately this is at a cost to their guests.

  31. Quiet, clean room with comfortable bed.

    Positive: Very spacious, comfortable bed, nice kitchen facilities. Negative: There was no freezer in the kitchen. The mirror was not centered over the sink, which made for awkward shaving for my husband.

  34. Great modern deco place. Annoying to not have concierge

    Positive: Modern and clean room Negative: No concierge, hence when we asked the customer service for certain items they were offline and unable to attend to our needs, such as an extra pair of slippers or a blanket. Water in shower was lukewarm.

    Positive: There was no front desk, which I knew. So it was private. The open concept room was nice. Lighting was a bonus - you could control it any which way you want depending on your mood or what you're doing. Good big window. The kitchen was nice with equipments and utensils like a first apartment. Central location, very bike friendly city. Negative: Since Montreal is a bike friendly city David should have bike storage accommodations in case visitors decide to bring their own bike.

    When traveling to places for the first time, you don’t know what you will get. Every trip has its positive and negative surprises. Happy to say that the David hotel was the clear winner on the surprise meter for our trip! Great location, no check-in, wonderful room and amenities, … it is the kind of experience that gives you a lot of decorating ideas and you wish you owned such a cool place!
